6th Edition = 600 orphans
Number of orphans that we support varies from editions to another but we always focus on the same mission. We want to create opportunities to change orphans’ life by exploring their athletic abilities, engaging them with social activities and building their confidence. We also aim at building awareness for community to take care children in need. Until now, we were able to invite +500 orphans, and we intend to reach 1000 in our 10th edition!
Values we want to spread in our projects:
With this race, many orphans get a new opportunity to be part of the society thanks to the power of running and generosity. It inspires all of us. Those values are very strong to anyone and can change people's life. Let's spread together the love of effort, fun & passion.
The Lakes Races is inviting more and more orphans from different locations. It started with 125 orphans from Que Huong Charity Center who were invited and sponsored in our first edition in April 2019. In the second edition in October 2019, 162 orphans from 5 different orphanages (Poussiere de Vie, Long Hoa, Picasso, Green Bamboo and Little Rose) were invited and sponsored. For the Third Edition 126 orphans joined the race despite the Covid Situation and 130 in our 4th edition (Christina Noble Charity Foundation). During our 5th Anniversary on 04/06/2023, we invited and sponsored 438 orphans.
For this 6th edition on May 26th, 2024, 600 orphans are going to join the fun with us for a day they will remember all their life.

Values we want to spread in our projects:
- Nothing is granted: you need to commit to get results
- Diversity is gold: they will inspire others as they will be inspired
- Confidence improved: they will realize they are like others
- Love: they will feel it all around them for that special day

Christine Noble Children's Foundation
Christina knows first-hand what it is like to be denied her basic human rights, to be isolated and marginalised and to survive on the streets. This adversity in her young life instilled in her a passion for children’s rights worldwide. Since arriving in Vietnam (1989) and Mongolia (1997), Christina and her foundation have established over 170 projects providing education, healthcare and community development humanitarian services to vulnerable and destitute children and their families and poor rural communities. To date these projects have assisted over 900,000 children and collectively have impacted the lives of over 1,000,000 children and adults.

UPP x Green Bamboo
The Green Bamboo is now the Green Bamboo Social Protection Center (GBC) and activities are centred around creating more favourable situations for disadvantaged groups, families, and communities. This is done by facilitating access to social services in the community, while simultaneously reducing the heavy load on the current system of social protection services in Ho Chi Minh City. In addition, the GBC develops the social work skills of employees and collaborators; advocates to improve local policies related to social work and the assistance of people in special circumstances; raises public awareness of social issues and supports vulnerable people.

Long Hoa
The Long Hoa Boys Orphanage is a non-profit organization established in 1995, to care for orphans around Ho Chi Minh City and Vietnam. With a humble start with 30 boys, it gave new opportunities for the children, whose future had been filled with uncertainty. Today, it has grown to house more than 100 boys between 4 to 20 years old.
The orphanage is sponsored by the Long Hoa Buddhist Temple and provides the boys with dormitory housing and daily meals while they attend school locally in District 7. Website: https://longhoaorphanage.wordpress.com/ |
Mother Huong Foundation (MHF)
Mother Huong Foundation (MHF) was established to lovingly help children and take care of the unfortunate. Our founder and role model, Huong's mother, said, these children are not orphans, but her children. She loves and cares for them like any mother. A wise man once said that the true religion is to take care of orphans and the poor. Mother Huong guides us to live with this as a grateful gift of love. Mother Huong's Foundation is currently caring for more than 340 homeless children in Vietnam.
